Go Green: In-Depth Analysis Within Sustainable Energy
Decades of tree and biomass study jointly conducted by Florida State University and Shell Energy have resulted in the planting of the largest single "Energy Crop Plantation" within the United States.
This Plantation spans approximately a hundred thirty acres and is home to over two-hundred and fifty-thousand planted trees including cottonwoods (native to the region) and eucalyptus (which are non-invasive) along with various row crops including soybeans.
This organization of "super trees" was brought into being as a result of the University's joint research with other agencies including Shell, the United States Department of Energy, the Common Purpose Institute, along with groups of various individuals who are working to develop sustainable energy sources for the future.
This research is focused on the planting and processing of biomass energy resources from fast-growing crops known as "closed loop biomass" or simply "energy crops".
The project seeks to develop "power plants" including wood-pulp or wood-fiber plants and clean bio-gas to be employed by industries. Plants such as sugarcane which can be utilized for ethanol development and crops such as soybeans for bio-diesel fuel production.
University participation in renewable power research is also going on at Penn State University. At Penn State, special analysis is focused on the growth of hydrogen power as a practical renewable power source.
The researchers involved are convinced that mankind is moving toward a hydrogen-fueled economy as a result of the needs for us to reduce air pollution and come across other sources of energy besides petroleum to power up the United States.
Hydrogen energy burns clean and may be endlessly renewed, as it may be drawn from water and crop plants. Hydrogen power would thus be a sustainable energy resource to be found within the US' own infrastructure while the world's supply of (cost-effective) oil peaks and begins to decline.
The University seeks to assist with the commercial development of hydrogen powered fuel cells, which would be usable in place of or in tandem with combustion engines for all of our automobiles.
When President Bush fairly recently announced his renewable power initiative, he determined that the government would develop five "Sun Grant" centers for concentrated study.
Oregon State University has the honor of having been selected as one of these centers, and has been issued government grants of $20 million dollars for each of the next four years in order to carry out its mission.
OSU will lead the way in exploring renewable energy as it represents the interests of the Pacific Islands, the US' Pacific Territories, and nine western states. OSU President Edward Ray says, the study being conducted through OSU's Sun Grant Center will contribute directly to our meeting President Bush's challenge for energy independence.
Particular research into renewable power being conducted at OSU by various teams of scientists right now include a project to figure out ways to efficiently convert such products as straw into a source of sustainable biomass fuel. Another one is aimed at studying how to efficiently convert wood fibers into liquid fuel.
Make the effort and conduct your own research on, "energy pendant wiki" and "what is scalar energy?" Once you've completed this, support the renewable power movement by making an investment on your own energy pendant.
Just How Many Renewable Energy Sources Exist? A Quick Overview There is a lot of energy that we can harness if we seek to research and develop the technologies needed to do so.
Going Green: Make A Decision To Use Alternate Sources Of Power Some energy consultants and analysts strongly believe that cheap oil has either "peaked" or that it will reach its maximum point very soon.
What To Prepare For In Case You Have Chosen To Get A Job In The Alternative Energy Industry Many people who take jobs in the alternative energies research and development sector have to, at least in the beginning, take relatively low pay.
Geothermal Power As Alternate Energy - Info You Possibly Might Not Know About Geothermal energy is a largely untapped area of alternative energy potential, as it simply taps the energy being naturally produced by the earth herself.
Renewable Power Resources For Your Electrical Power And Heating Energy Demands There is quite a number of alternative energy sources that can be used in several ways to achieve the highest level of efficiency possible. Here are some of the options people rely on worldwide.
Magnet Generators And Perpetual Motion Machines That Produce Electricity Freely And Forever We are all familiar with good old fashioned windmills, solar panels for heating water, and even geothermal energy systems but what is a magnetic generator?
Magnet Generators And Instances That Confirm This Concept. There are many different kinds of free energy devices including the magnet generator that have been developed over the years and each one proves that the concept works. Commercial development and manufacture of such machines however, appears to have been almost non-existent.
